Photo walks in Norfolk and Suffolk
Discover new locations and spend an uninterrupted day with your camera
Photo walks are for all abilities and are held at unique venues in Norfolk and Suffolk which offer a vast array of photographic opportunities. They offer a chance to explore somewhere new and to spend some quality time with your camera, whilst being guided around particular areas. If you'd like the opportunity to spend a whole day with your camera, with no distractions, just being creative and inspired by your surroundings and fellow photographers, a photo walk could be for you.
How does a photo walk work?
The day is spent with a group of up to ten photographers, in a really friendly, supportive atmosphere. Many people come to more than one walk so friendships have built up over time. We spend the morning exploring the venue with myself as your guide. I'll offer technical advice should you require it, and guide you towards particular ideas. Everyone is made to feel welcome and included. You'll also have an hour of free time to go back and explore areas we may have missed. In the afternoon, we spend some time reviewing our work, picking our favourites and then sharing them with the rest of the group. It is amazing how one subject can look so different through ten different pairs of eyes.
Where does a photo walk take place?
Previous venues have included Henstead Exotic Garden, Forncett Industrial Steam Museum, Norwich Cathedral and St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
Venues are pre-booked and are often closed to the public on the day we visit, allowing us exclusive access and a more relaxed day. Please scroll down to view the dates and venues and to book your place.

Some wonderful words from previous participants:
"A big thank you to you, Lucy; it was a really brilliant day, how lucky we were to spend it in such a treasure trove with so many different places to explore in such amazing surroundings. What a find! Thank you too for your patience and gentle guidance, and your understanding that no question is too silly to ask." - Sue
"Being a relative beginner, I was a little apprehensive at attending, but need not have worried. Right from the start Lucy made everyone feel at ease. She was brilliant at explaining things and guided us to areas that offered the most promise for our photo sessions. We were left to explore and shoot at our own pace, but Lucy was always on hand to help if things weren’t quite going to plan. Everyone in the group was really supportive and happy to share advice and techniques." - Linda
"Your technical knowledge coupled with such a calm approach to supporting us, makes these walks an enjoyable way to improve my photography." - Martin
"I have been on several photo walks with Lucy and she does a great job of inspiring the participants with interesting venues. She is on-hand all the time to help with technical know how, encourage and to point out changes in light and perspective. All the participants can edit their photos and share their favourites at the end of the day in a supportive atmosphere the experience as each venue is seen through other eyes and different ideas and knowledge can be passed on. I have learnt so much in a short time from fellow photographers as well as from Lucy herself - highly recommended." - Helen
"I have thoroughly enjoyed the four photo walks this year. What has made the walks so enjoyable has been the friendliness of the participants who cover a wide range of photographic interests and skills and of course the presence of a professional photographer, Lucy, throughout the day who is always willing to help with both technical and creative advice. Seeing each other’s results at the end of the day has been truly inspirational and goes a long way to proving that it is more the photographer and less the equipment that counts." - Greg
"I have been on two of Lucy's photo walks. Lucy really encourages the group to look at subjects from a different perspective, to use light and shade creatively and to take imaginative shots of everyday objects. She helps the group to explore and expand but is always on hand with advice on either the technical or the artistic side of photography. I have learnt something new on each walk and can't wait to attend some more." - Elaine
"We just wanted to thank you for a truly inspiring day. We came away from the day absolutely buzzing. We learnt so much about how to use our cameras, created some pictures we were proud of and enjoyed seeing everyone else's successes. You have inspired us and we hope to join you on future workshops you may run." - Danielle & Sally
"Thank you Lucy, what a perfect place to hold a photography workshop! I found the whole day very enjoyable and inspiring. You have reignited a passion in me that has been unfortunately lying dormant for a long time. Once upon a time it was unheard of for me to leave the house without my camera slung over my shoulder but that was back in the days when cameras were so much simpler to operate. You have shown me that I can still keep it simple in this very technical world and to still be able to create something amazing, thank you." - Karen
